Laying Field Cables There are no special requirements for laying field and communication cables connected to AC 800M. However: • Cables for short-distance communication without modems should always be routed at a distance of 10 cm (4 in) from other cables. • All cables connected to AC 800M should be routed at a distance of 30cm (12 in) from all power cables and 10 cm (4 in) from cables belonging to the relevant international immunity standard, class 4. Type of Field Cable Always use shielded cables for the following applications:WOODWARD 5466-274• Communications • High-frequency pulse transmission • Low level analog signals, for example Pt100 and thermocouples Unshielded cables may be used for other applications. The signal and return conductor should be located in the same cable. Lightning Protection Industrial installations and power plants are normally provided with well-integrated grounding networks, installed as part of the power distribution system.
