Partial scope
IMDS allows the definition of half components, materials or parts of basic substances used for half components and materials. Detailed information on essential substances
IMDS (suppliers: IMDS committee, IMDS committee/ILI Metals, Stahl und Eisen List) published several metal materials (1-4 categories) defined in the public specification. For materials manufactured in accordance with public codes or standards, these materials must be used. They must be referenced or attached to the tree structure. This also applies to other materials issued by the IMDS Steering Committee (passivation, chromate film, electroplating coating, non electroplating metal coating, screen printing ink, etc.; see their recommendations for details). It is not allowed to copy these materials or change them after copying. These materials must be referred to and preferred in the inspection procedure (simplified inspection procedure).
