Hub
A managed hub designed to operate with the reflective storage products of. If there is no hub device, the reflection memory node must be connected to the network in the daisy chain loop. In a hub less configuration, if a node is inoperable, the entire loop is disabled. When the hub is merged into the network, the network switches from a loop configuration to a star configuration. In a star configuration, if a node does not work, it will bypass the node and the rest of the nodes on the network will remain working. When the network is composed of a large number of nodes, or if the nodes are widely distributed in an area, the star configuration is easier to build and maintain. Automatically bypass the port when signal loss or lack of valid synchronization mode is detected, allowing the remaining nodes to continue running. Each port on the regenerates the serial optical signal, eliminating insertion loss and cable attenuation issues. Signal regeneration also reduces jitter. The optical ports are implemented using small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceivers (see Figure 1 on page 8). Only the required ports need to be populated. SFP transceivers can be a mixture of multi-mode (short range) or single-mode (long range) transceivers. This feature allows cost savings and system optimization in small networks. For larger networks, multiple hubs can be cascaded, allowing a managed hub array with up to 256 nodes. The RS232 port allows local monitoring and control of the reflective memory network using a standard PC serial port. The Ethernet port (10BaseT) can be used to monitor and control the hub remotely over a local area network (LAN) or using a Web browser. Available as 19 inch 1U rack cabinet or desktop cabinet. Universal power supply can operate according to almost any international power standard. Figure 2 on page 9 is the functional block diagram of the hub assembly.
