The instructions contained in this manual must be precisely followed in all circumstances.
Failure to do so could result in the creation of potential sources of danger or the disabling of
safety features integrated in the handheld terminal.
Apart from the safety instructions given in this manual, the safety precautions and accident
prevention measures appropriate to the situation in question must also be observed.
❑ Measures must be taken to ensure that in the event of power dips or
power failures, an interrupted program can be properly restarted. In such
situations, no dangerous operating conditions must be allowed to occur
even temporarily.
❑ In all situations where faults occurring on the automation system could
cause personal injury or significant damage to machinery and equipment,
additional external safety measures must be taken in order to ensure the
system as a whole remains in a safe operating condition even in the
event of a fault.
❑ The functionality of safety-related parts (E-stop and enabling switches)
must be tested regularly.
❑ Also after strong shocks (e.g. device falls to ground) of the device, the
functionality of safety-relevant parts must be tested.
2.1 Power Supply
The device meets the safety class III in accordance with EN61131-2 and
EN50178. The 24V power supply for the equipment must be guaranteed
through safe isolation of the low-voltage circuits from dangerous-contact
voltage circuits (e.g. by safety transformers or similar facilities).
