应用范例如图1所示，其中，风扇由车厢温度传感器激活，并通过WLAN发出温度和状态信号。图示中RECOM 8W DC/DC转换器的输入范围为43V至160V，可为传感器电路提供5V隔离的稳压电源轨。转换器尺寸紧凑，仅32 x 20 x 10mm。RECOM DC/DC转换器符合EN50121-3-2对铁路车辆EMC标准的要求，除此之外，延长的保持时间、反极性保护以及EMI滤波器的可选性，让转换器对瞬态和低频传导干扰具有较高的抵抗力。铁路用DC/DC转换器有时需要符合UK RIA 12标准，该标准定义了110V系统在20ms内最高浪涌电压可达385V。但是在电源输入阻抗仅为0.2欧姆的情况下，用瞬态电压抑制器抑制输入电压会消耗过多电能。RECOM的解决方案是使用RSPxx-168前端瞬态电压抑制器（图2），将浪涌电压降至DC/DC转换器输入电压范围内的最大值，为DC/DC转换器提供浪涌保护。RECOM提供20W、150W和300W三种瞬态保护模块可供选择。集中式铁路车辆系统和轨道装置也需要更高功率的转换器。RECOM的RPxxx-RW和RPxxxRUW系列“砖”型DC/DC转换器很受市场欢迎，模块具有12:1输入电压范围，涵盖了从24VDC至110VDC的所有铁路标准输入电压，并且涵盖了输入浪涌和欠压。DIN导轨型也是常见应用，例如RECOM的姊妹公司Power Control Systems（PCS）提供坚固耐用的120W SQ120模块，输入为110VDC，符合EN50155标准。
